
VERA Bottoms
All sizes from EU 32-58 | US 0-26 are included in the PDF file.
The VERA bottoms are semi-fitted and they have the whole vintage vibe with a Hollywood waistband.
The front has 2 deep pleats, 1 on each side, allowing you to try the garment before sewing them and adjust them to your own taste, and they have an inner waistband too.
For the back, you have two options you can choose from, 1 is with darts and 1 is with elastic to get that comfortable yet perfect fit.
They have side pockets, also extended to match the high waist. It has loops too, which you can also choose from 2 options, to wear your nicest belts with. 1 option is with single loops and 1 is with doubled loops.
For the closure, they have a front zipper and you can choose to use a button, a hook & eye, or an invisible button.
The VERA bottoms come with 3 views: shorts, bermudas & trousers, which enables you to use this pattern for every season, depending on the fabric choice.
* The VERA shorts have a 3,5”/ 9 cm inseam length and a straight leg cut.
* The VERA bermudas have a 9,4”/ 24 cm inseam length, right above the knee, and a straight leg cut
* The VERA trousers have a 28,3”/ 72 cm inseam length, right below the ankle, and a tapered leg cut.These bottoms are dressy yet comfortable to wear at any time and feel like a million bucks.

The level of this pattern is intermediate-advanced, but with the instructions provided a curious beginner can also accomplish the project. You can also follow the sew-along video here.

These bottoms are perfect to be made with medium-weight woven fabrics.
Examples: Wool - Leather - Gabardine - Denim - Linen - Cotton Drill.I have tested the pattern with cotton gingham, poly-viscose, and cotton on a medium weight and with medium-high weight denim.
If the fabric you are going to use is thick and has a strong consistency, I recommend to avoid the interfacing step, because this makes the fabric too thick to work with nicely using a regular sewing machine; you could break some needles.
I recommend non-stretch lightweight fabrics for pocket bag lining, to avoid chunky seams around the pockets.
It is not recommended to use stretch knits or lightweight fabrics for this pattern.
Always wash your fabric before any project to avoid size alterations, regarding fabric care.

The VERA bottoms pattern comes with a size layers option. You can choose the size you
will be working with, making it easier to do any alterations to the pattern regarding your
measurements, without having all the size lines confusing you.You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to make use of this feature.
If printing at home on A4 or Letter format set your printer at 100% with scaling turned off.
